About the Game
Lily's Night Off is a visual novel, but not in the typical sense; as you progress in this game, your actions drastically change character personalities, story lines, and lead to unexpected outcomes.
Tsundere pop idol singer Lilypad Lily is back with the other two members of her idol group: Nym, the shy costume designer and Vicky, the energetic dance choreographer!
You wake up on the side of the road with no memories, no idea where you are, and the famous pop idol, Lilypad Lily, right in front of your eyes! With each decision you make, personalities, histories, and outcomes take dramatic and wild turns.
Try to uncover the true ending to figure out why! (This game can be played as a standalone without having played Lily's Day Off)
The game features over 10 unique songs, artwork from over 12 different artists, more than 15 crazy endings, and lots of ridiculous situations!

Behind the Scenes
Lily's Night Off was my second localization project. It involved a different game engine, a different translation workflow, and a completely different story tone, but my passion remained the same. It made me believe that I could continue doing translations as a long-term hobby, even while working full-time.
The main lesson I learned while working on this project is that if you truly want to make something happen, you have to be persistent and never give up, even when faced with setbacks.
After completing my first localization project, I was eager to translate this series because it was another game I had enjoyed playing when I was younger. However, reaching out to the developer didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped. One thing I forgot to think of was that everyone has different things going on in their lives, and there are countless reasons why someone might not reply immediately.
After waiting a few weeks and slowly losing hope, I realized I wouldn't achieve my goal if I just gave up. I decided to try reaching out through any of his active social media accounts I could find. Thankfully, I received a response shortly after, and we began working together to localize the game.
We encountered several technical challenges during the localization process, but managed to overcome each one by working closely with the developer. I even proposed solutions to long-standing bugs that had existed in the game for years, which is something I am incredibly proud of.
I always had a feeling deep down that I could be an awesome playtester because of my highly detail-oriented personality. Who knows, maybe that's why I'm an engineer now.
Special Thanks
Many thanks to Kyuppin for working with me and getting my localization published. I had a wonderful time learning the inner workings of Unity Engine games and further developing my skills as a translator and developer.
